Mr. Ahmed Omar Abdullah, CEO, Borouge, has accepted the chairmanship of the GPCA Plastics Committee, replacing Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al-Mulla, Managing Director and CEO, QAPCO, who became treasurer joining the GPCA Board of Directors Executive Committee.
Both Mr. Abdullah and Dr. Al-Mulla will remain on the GPCA Board supporting the association in advancing its strategic objectives and vision.
Dr. Al-Mulla was appointed CEO of QAPCO in 2007, and is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of Industries Qatar (IQ) and Muntajat.
He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania, US and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Ph. D. in Engineering from Leicester University, UK.
Mr. Abdullah has spent his entire career with the ADNOC Group of Companies, and most recently as CEO of Borouge.
Mr. Abdullah has developed extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, having held senior positions in general management, supply chain management, business support, marketing and planning.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors at Borouge, having previously served as Chairman of Borouge’s Marketing Projects Steering Group (MPSG).
Mr Ahmed is a UAE national and holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Governance & Leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
