Connecting the Gulf

Members Directory 2016-2017

Membership of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) continues to prove attractive, with no fewer than 26 companies joining its ranks this year. We are especially pleased to welcome a new full member in the form of Oman Methanol Company.

There are now 35 full members from the ranks of the GCC’s chemical industry and 250 members in total, from virtually all parts of the globe. GPCA full members account for 95% of all the chemical output in the Arabian Gulf region, with sales worth US$87billion.

We are thus pleased to publish this year’s directory listing our members and detailing the products and services they offer. “GPCA – Connecting the Gulf 2016-2017” is the ninth edition of this useful data compilation, available in this printed edition and online both as an electronic version and via the GPCA’s website.

GPCA is in essence a platform for cooperation and focuses its activities on three key pillars – networking, advocacy and thought leadership. We hope this publication helps us towards this goal.

In recent years, GPCA has stepped up its activities in these areas and begun to build CSR and sustainability principles into all it does.

A number of key initiatives are underway, including our Waste Free Environment (WFE) campaign, run annually in the Arabian Gulf and now further afield; the Gulf SQAS program, which seeks to improve the safety, quality and sustainability of chemical transport and storage; and of course, our vitally important Responsible Care initiative.

This year, we are also launching our Leaders of Tomorrow program, which will help develop a reliable supply of talented employees for the GCC chemical industry. Sixty students are attending this years Annual GPCA Forum to learn more about the industry. The inaugural program will be supported by Dow Chemical, Borouge, SABIC, Orpic, Saudi Aramco and NATPET.

GPCA’s existence and the success achieved so far is a reflection of its members’ determination to cooperate, which in turn is driven by the fact that in the complex world of chemicals, no single company can excel in every area.

In this publication, each full member of GPCA is given a page profile in the following listings, with associate members listed by membership type in the accompanying four listing sections.

Finally, to make finding suppliers easier, we have included a product finder listing at the end, which sets out which companies offer the range of more than 350 chemicals included in this directory.

I would like to thank ICIS for its work in helping compile and produce this publication – the fifth year it has done so. I would also like to extend my best wishes to all GPCA members – I look forward to your support and cooperation for 2017 and beyond.

Member benefits & member growth

Posted on December 13th, 2016

The steady rise of GPCA membership is due in no small part to the attractive benefits offered to member companies. GPCA has built a package of offerings for members, all of which are firmly related to its three strategic pillars: networking, thought leadership and advocacy.
